It's here! Received my Autumn Edit of The Parcel in yesterday's post. Containing 6 products, 5 of them full size!
CROP Natural Pure Macadamia Oil $18, 50ml
A multi-purpose oil for cleasing and care. Can be used on hair, body, nails and face. Very lightly scented, its quickly absorbed into skin, my hands/nails are going to love this!
GARNIER Micellar Cleansing Water $6.95, 125ml
Pretty sure you can get larger bottles of this too? I've tried a little sample of this in the past. A gentle cleanser.
ESTÈE LAUDER New Dimensions Shape & Fill Expert Serum $140, 30ml
Smooths and plumps the skin with proven results in two weeks. Contoured jawline, yes please!
O.P.I Nail Lacquer $19.95, 15ml
Think we've received a polish from this brand in every box since they debuted? Not real impressed with the pale pink 'In the Spot-Light Pink' shade that I got... but at least I know it's a good quality polish.
MOR Emporium Classics Triple-Milled Soap in Blood Orange $19.95, 180g
Wow, that's an expensive hunk of soap! Smells divine!
GILDED CAGE Unleashed Lipstick $40, 3.5g
Never heard of this brand, you can see I received a very bright red shade. Would love to see the other two shades that were given out...
Some really nice inclusions this quarter, perfect skincare oil for the coming cooler months. I'm not thrilled about the polish and lipstick colours I received, so this box is the least exciting of all I've received so far.
Would you be happy with these colours? What do you think of the other goodies?
You guys may have realised (perhaps even before me) that I no longer have any real desire to blog. I haven't purchased any beauty products beside the repeat offenders for yonks! I have shared the rare manicure on my Instagram but that's it... and it's likely to continue that way for some time. I promise to upload the Marie Claire parcels though, I currently subscribe to both the regular edit and the Ageless Beauty boxes and I freakin love them.
The first Ageless Beauty box for 2016 arrived today. Let's take a look at what was inside.
Elizabeth Arden Pro Triple Action Protector RRP $99, 50ml
We're being told this will become and essential step in your daily routine. With three levels of protection to lessen the signs of ageing, boost the natural repair system and reinforce the natural moisture barrier to maintain skin radiance. For a hundred bucks I expect all that and more! It also boasts physical sunscreens (you know, as opposed to those pesky 'mythical' ones lol).
It's tinted, so I figure it's a day thing... always happy to give higher end skincare a go.
Tresemme Fullness Emulsion Spray RRP $10.99, 125ml
Have we already received something like this before? Its very similar looking to a product I'm currently using those cannot for the life of me remember what it is! I've definitely noticed a change in my hair the last few years, and not a good one. My hair is more flyaway, breaks easily and always looks dry. Use this on wet hair (can also be used on dry hair) this hair thickening spray will hopefully work wonders!
Garnier Skin Naturals Miracle Sleeping Cream RRP $19.99, 50ml
Smells good, and we all use night creams so I'm happy to give this one a go.
Essano Rosehip Collagen Repair Serum RRP $29.99, 30ml
I love using rosehip products and this serum looks great! The formula is really light, non oily, fast absorbing and minimally scented.
Elucent Whitening Hand Cream RRP $24.99, 50g
Created specifically for the hands with skin-brightening products. Along with my hair, my hands are also beginning to show my true age! Great inclusion.
LonVitalite C8 Collagen Crystal Eye Mask RRP $32 for six masks
(Received 1 mask pack)
I've used something very similar to these in the past. I am looking forward to using these, perhaps in the next few days when the mercury peaks once again this Summer.
What do you think of this box? I'm very happy with the inclusions, and highly recommend this subscription or the original Marie Claire Parcel. These are fantastic value. I subscribed for a special introduction price of around $80-90 I think(?), and this box alone is valued at over that! Seriously check them out!
Boxing Day sales typically involve massively discounted product resulting in incredible bargains. Jamberry did things a little different last year (OMG It really was LAST year!) by re-releasing 18 past nail wrap designs for the single day only.
The usual BUY 3 GET ONE FREE was still in effect, and they also had a couple of freebies on offer if you spent over certain amounts.
Fortunately my younger sister is also a massive fan of the Jams, so together we decided to do a combined order and split the wraps between us.
We decided on four of the One Day Exclusive wraps (we each chose two), and another two each from the full wrap line.
My sisters choices...
Exclusives Sweet Slash and Wild & Free.
Regular wraps, Dusty Floral and Sedona.
Exclusives On The Fringe and Bella Romantica.
Regular range, Gelato and On Holiday.
Our split stash looks something like this, including the freebie wrap from spending over $100.
The total cost for each of us was $66 + postage. Thats the cost of 3 wraps, which qualified us for a fourth free. So 9 half sheets each. Enough for 1 pedicure, 1 manicure and leftovers for accents from each half, these are sure to keep me busy for a while.
Do you like any of these designs? Which One Day Exclusives would you have nabbed?
Hey beauties, hope you're all enjoying these last few days of 2015.
I love the weather warmimg back up again, our town is flooded with tourists, the river beaches packed, the bakery sold out of bread long before lunch time and car parks are few and very far between (as we just found out!).
The Christmas day rubbish is mostly gone now, the recycle bin overflowing already, it'll be weeks before I manage to squash it all in.
Figured why not add to the rubbish pile by tossing out my accumulated empties.
I'll begin with a couple of fragrances, it's always a little sad to see an empty perfume bottle.
David Beckham Intimately Women. I actually exchanged some Flybuys points for this one, so basically a freebie. Not my favourite scent, but it is long-wearing and I find suited better in the cooler months. Reasonably priced this is usually heavily discounted further.
Marc Jacobs DOT. What's not to love about this sweet smelling gem!? Actually, I'm not a fan of the over the top lid... there's no room on my shelf for that! My Mum bought me this for my birthday not quite a year ago, so yeah, I like this one.
Michael Kors 24K Brilliant Gold sample. I actually didn't like this one much. It was a little overpowering.
Moving onto the more usual suspects.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes. I didn't mind these, but have since found another version that I much prefer so won't be repurchasing.
Rexona Clinical Protection, I currently prefer the Summer Strength version. Will always repurchase and have backups ready to go!
Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free stick foundation, matte version. Love this! So quick and easy to apply, love that I don't have to use my fingers at all. I prefer to use a brush to blend it in. Wears well over a primer and I've managed to find the perfect match for my summer skin. This is my 2nd, so I've already purchased and have no doubt I'll do it again.
QV Skin Lotion. Recommended by doctors everywhere for anyone with skin issues, I prefer a thicker lotion.
Jergens Ultra Healing. Now this is a nice thick lotion. Non greasy, quickly absorbed, nicely scented. I like this one.
Schwarzkopf Marrakesh Oil & Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner. Featuring regularly in my Empties posts, I love the scent of these and how nourishing they are. I like to switch my hair wash products up, currently using something different, but these will definitely be back.
Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo. I'm pretty sure this said 'for straight hair' or something along those lines. It's your standard white, shoots out a hundred miles a second, dry shampoo. Smells really fresh, takes minimal time and effort to work into hair, doesn't leave any white strands or residue. I will cetainly nab another of these when I need to replenish my stash, currently I have 3 different dry shampoos on the go! Yeah, I'm weird! :)
There's something liberating about tossing out empty beauty products. I look forward to discovering and enjoying many new and familiar products in 2016.
And I may have already replaced the fragrances, thanks to Priceline's current specials, I've nabbed a couple of celebrity purchases online that I'll share with you once they arrive.
This will likely be my final 2015 post, please take care over the coming days, enjoy your NYE. I look forward to blogging with you all next year.
Hi all. So, that is Christmas done! I think most of us are wondering what on Earth happened to 2015, for me it's just vanished! I hope you and yours have had a very Merry Christmas and wishing you an incredibly wonderful New Year.
If you're not familiar with Beautorium, it's a rewards system from Beauty Heaven in which you can purchase from a vast array of selected products using your points. Points are earnt from siging up, filing out their beauty profiles, comment or reviewing a products. Each task has it's own point value. You much reach a certain amount of points (351+) before being able to take part in the Beautorium. 20 points = $1.
This was my first time participating, I didn't have many points at all but it was still a pleasant reward to exchange them for product.
I was able to grab the Designer Brands Natural Ground Minerals Medium Powder Foundation. I have used this in the past and was impressed enough to snatch up another.
I also picked up a Schwarzkopf Biotin+ Volume Dry Shampoo. I freakin love dry shampoos and can't wait to try this one.
The lovlies from Beatuy Heaven included the above two samples. PureTan Pure Bronze Instant Tanning Lotion *Dark and the Babor HSR Lifting Creme.
I really must up my reviewing for them, to ensure next year I can maybe get a little crazy at the Beautorium. (Although I'll need to do 70 reviews to qualify!) Did you pick anything up? Leave me a comment so I can check out your haul.
I'm still relatively new to Jamberry, and while I don't consider application tricky, I do still find it takes a couple of days for the tips of my wraps to settle, smooth out and not have any rough patches. I expect this though, and have no issues giving the tips a light file a couple times over the first couple of days.
Tuesday December 15th
OPI My Gecko Does Tricks
Removed the pinky 'Smitten' wrap.
Day 4 and my wraps were looking and feelimg great! I used the soak removal method to take the pinky wrap off purely because it was no longer wanted. The other two were sticking strong.
Tuesday December 22nd
Had to remove my Jams to apply my Christmas ones!
Total wear time -11 Days. Still had plenty of life in them.
You can see my polish may have been looking a little manky, but the Jamberry Wraps were still like new! You can see the growth from my cuticles to the top of the wraps. I love how strong the Jams make my nails. I haven't had any breakages wearing these.
A few months ago I shared with you the latest US hit nail wrap product to hit Australian shores, Jamberry Nail wraps. I may have become a little addicted.... haha
There's some nail wraps that you can wipe away/off with remover, some that basically peel off by themselves, and Jamberry's that require a little more effort to be safely removed.
I do not recommended that you simple 'peel' the wrap from your nails - and that goes for all brands of wraps that I've tried.
There's a couple of methods advertised out there on the www; the 'safe', 'natural' removal method using coconut oil or a soak-off method using polish remover. Grab some remover, a small glass shot-glass, and orange stick and some paper towel.
I use a variety of products to remove my polishes. Straight acetone for those pesky glitters!, an acetone/glycerine/water mix (my usual choice) and an acetone-free store bought remover. That's the one I decided to use for this.
I do not recommend using straight acetone, as it actually 'eats' away at the wraps before the glue, and you end up with mushy wraps and glue residue (yes I'm speaking from experience). Stick with a more gentle option, and take the time to remove them correctly.
Begin by gently lifting the edge of the wrap with the orange stick. If you've worn the wraps for some days, they'll probably have already begun to lift, if not, carefully work the stick under the wrap, again, for the side. NOT from the tip.
Place you nail in the remover. Soak. I'm not sure how long exactly I held it in there, but it wasn't what I would refer to as 'long'.
Use the orange stick again from the same edge to work the wrap away from the nail.
Repeat the soaking process.
Until finally the adhesive completely gives way and your wrap has been safely removed from your nail, without any tearing or damage.
I figured if I've taken the time to apply these long-wearing babies, I can take the time to safely remove them.
There was some minor glue residue on a couple of nails, which easily wiped away.
The non-acetone remover wasn't drying for my skin and worked well at the glue, so I recommend a 'nourishing' store-bought remover to avoid drying.
These wraps are super fun, with so many patterns, colours and finishes available. They are totally worth the extra effort to apply (see my original post for details) for the wear time and safe removal ensures my nails are healthy, and ready to go again :)
Acne is not just a teenage thing. I was recently given the opportunity to trial part of the Four-Step Complete Acne Control Program from SkinB5. Whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and spots are all a form of acne, I have breakouts, large pores and oily skin. My problem areas are my jawline, chest, back and shoulders.
The Four-Step Program looks like this...
1. Acne Control Tablets Extra Strength. The potent formula helps control skin's oil production, support healthy immune system, hormonal balance and relieve stress to help control and manage acne.
2. Acne Control Cleansing Mousse. Very gentle, non-drying, antioxidant rich cleansing foam. Contains Green Tea, Vitamin B5 and Aloe Vera.
3. Acne Control Moisturiser. Light, oil-free, antioxidant-rich moisturiser perfect for oily skin.
4. Acne Control Caplets. Perfect for all acne sufferers, all skin types, these caplets contain blemish fighting antioxidants and natural herbs that work from the inside out to control acne.
(5). Skin Purifying Mask. A 5 minute clay mask said to literally 'drink' the oils from your skin.
I received the Cleansing Mousse, Control Moisturiser and Skin Purifying Mask.
The cleansing foam is really gentle on my skin. It has a light, refreshing scent and does not leave my skin feeling stiff and dry, but rather fresh and clean. The foam pump packaging means you don't need a whole lot, there's no chance of wastage and you'll get a lot of product from this one bottle. $22.95
The Control Moisturiser is working wonders on my pores. Seriously, my pores are looking great! I do hate the pump on this, it shoots out a a gazillion-miles-per-hour and sprays everywhere (look at my pic below!)... perhaps mine is just a dud? It's not overly nourishing but I apply under my sunscreen, which my makeup then goes on top of. So again, really happy with the results. $22.95
I also received the Skin Purifying Mask.. and we all know I am a mask-whore! And this one is tops! Containing French Green Clay, Great Barrier Reef mineral salt & Natural Extracts (and a whole lot of other stuff!) this stuff is great! I love clay masks, they do tend to literally draw out and 'drink' the oils from my skin, and this one does a great job, especially as a quickie 5-minute mask. I love applying this when my skin feels super oily and gross - we all know that feeling right oily-skinned girls? - before stepping into the shower. By the time I've washed my hair, or shaved or whatever it is I do... I can easily remove it with a cloth. I then like to go ahead and use the cleansing mousse as well, doubling up on the days I feel I really need it. $34.95
They are all Benzoyl Peroxide Free - the complete opposite of another acne control program that I have also used in the past. I much prefer the gentleness of these.
Australian Made (thumbs up Aussies!) check out their website to see what products are suited to your needs. All available online from their site.
*Products received for review purposed. Honesty as always.
I'm pretty sure we all know by now just how much I love face masks, all face masks. Some are of course, better (both in performance and in experience) than others, some have some outstanding properties which also make them stand out.
Just the scent alone makes this one memorable! Plus, this skin-refining, pore-unclogging mask is fun and you can try it yourself for a measly $2! I love that these masks are available in both 100ml tubes for less than $9 and the 2x5gram sachets for $2. You can try before you commit, and if you're like me and want to try them all, that's easily possible too!
Easy to use, simply smooth a thin layer over clean, dry skin. Wait 10-15 minutes then remove with warm water. It quickly dried ^^ and my skin felt super clean afterwards.
